MUMBAI: The Sports Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI)’s annual general body meeting will be held at Ginger Hotel in Bhubaneswar on June 29 at 10.30 am.
The SJFI Hony. Secretary Prashant Keni announced this in a communication to all the affiliated units of the federation.
The Odisha Sports Journalists’ Association (OSJA) will be the hosts of the AGM. As per the communication from the SJFI Hony. Secretary, delegates will be arriving into Bhubaneswar on June 28 from all corners of the country.
The AGM, board and lodge of the delegates will be at Ginger Hotel in Bhubaneswar.
The outgoing Executive Committee of the SJFI is expected to meet for the final time before the AGM on June 29 to approve the report of the Hony. Secretary on the working of the federation for 2024-2025, to approve the Statement of Accounts presented by Hony. Treasurer 2024-2025, to appoint auditors for 2025-2026 and to conduct biannual elections to elect the new Executive Committee for 2025-2027.
The outgoing President, Tushar Trivedi from Gujarat Sports Journalists’ Association will chair both the meetings. This will also be the last AGM for Hony. Secretary, Prashant Keni of Sports Journalists’ Association of Mumbai. He successfully completes two terms of two years.
As per the SJFI Constitution, the three principal office-bearers can hold office in the federation for two successive terms of two years or 60 years of age whichever is earlier.
The SJFI has announced that Mr. Laxminarayan Kamath will supervise the SJFI Elections for the 2025-2027 term as the Returning Officer.
The filing of nominations for different posts began on June 15 and will conclude on June 25. Scrutiny of nominations and withdrawal of nominations will take place on or before May 28.
Elections, if any, will take place on May 29 during the AGM.

- Hony Secretary (1)
- Hony Jt Secretary (1)
- Hony. Treasurer (1)
- Committee members (7)
The OSJA Hony. Secretary, Suresh Swain, said all arrangements have been made to welcome the delegates. He said that the OSJA is very confident of hosting a very successful SJFI AGM.
His confidence draws from the fact that OSJA hosted the National Convention, JK Bose and Bali Trophy in 2016 so very smoothly.
