HYDERABAD: Indian chess grandmaster Dronavalli Harika lauded the efforts of the sports journalists and their role in athletes’ careers on the World Sports Journalists Day in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The member of the Indian women’s chess team that won the gold at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest last year said that sports journalists play a crucial role by bringing out the tales of athletes and their struggles.

“I congratulate all the sports journalists on the World Sports Journalists’ Day. We all are here right now because of all of you. You have been writing about us and have been investing all your time and energy for us. Thank you so much and I hope you write more and more in the future, and we are privileged to have you all,” she said.
The Telangana Sports Journalists Association (TSJA) and Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) have felicitated the Hyderabad girl and hoped that she will bring more laurels to the country.
